- Grignan
Charming village located in Drôme Provençale. You will admire its magnificent Renaissance castle, the belfry built in 1600, the communal bread oven (four banal), the communal washing station (lavoir) and La Maison du Bailli which dates back to the 13th century.
- Nyons
Nyons is in the heart of olive oil country and there are various moulins (mills) that you can visit to taste and buy the delicious olives and olive oil. Indeed its olive oil is considered to be amongst the best in France and is ‘appellation contrôlée’. Nyons is a lively town with a very unusual chapel spire, and its lower part has a distinctly holiday feel with lots of outdoor cafés and restaurants and large plane trees offering shade.
- Valréas
Valréas is a lovely town with a large number of picturesque medieval-narrow streets for wandering. Visit its magnificent church, medieval towers, buildings and walls, but also the low-arched vaulted passages, stone step-streets, and some lovely old doorways of carved stones.
- Richerenches
Richerenches is a small walled town, once the walled Commanderie des Templiers (the fortified headquarters of the Knights Templars). In the 12th century, Richerenches became one of the most important Commanderies des Templiers in Provence. It is also known for its truffle market Saturday morning, from November to March, and its famous mass which fills the village streets every third Saturday of January.
